Usually if Betsy had to find someone she relied on her telepathy to track them down. Thor however was fairly easy to locate without resorting to psychic tracking. Once she spotted him she put on an overly forced smile to match his greeting.

"How could I turn down an offer for drinks? Beer will do."

If her smile was forced or anything was off, Thor didn't pick up on it. "Ale! A strong lager for the lady." He moved over to a table and picked up two beers, handing one to her. "To new friends in strange circumstances."

He laughed taking a sip of his drink. "So, we are to be sharing living space. This is new territory for me, but I shall endeavor to give you respect and privacy, my lady. Anything I an do or tell you about myself is fair game. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

"To new friends." She lifted the glass to him in a quick little toast and then took a big sip of her drink. No matter how many times she experienced it there was still always a slight oddness to getting to know different versions of people.

She chuckles. "It's been quite some time since I've had a roommate that wasn't also a lover. It's new territory for us both." She took another sip. "That's very ...open and generous of you." She wasn't really used to such levels of openness.

Thor sipped his drink, watching her with a curious eye. He wasn't wary, for he knew he could defend himself if he had to. No, mostly he gazed at her with confusion, wanting to know more about her.

"I have in the past shared a palace with family. That is, sadly, as far as I can really remember. Oh, and Mr. Stark did set up residences for us at the Avengers tower." He frowned. "I have never lived with a lover, so I do not have that to compare it to."

"I shared a room with my brother briefly when we were younger, it didn't really go that exceptionally well." Brian and her never did quite see eye to eye about anything. It didn't mean they didn't love each other, just that they took different paths to reach goals. "Of course Mr. Stark would do that." There was the ever so slight hint of bitterness in her voice.

"Living with a lover is a different experience for everyone. Especially so when one is a telepath." And the other is the Horseman of Death.

Thor raises an eyebrow at her. He's not sure why, but he can tell there is a hint of anger in her voice. "Stark is and has always been a good friend to me." He shrugs, as if it is nothing, but he hates to hear anyone say anything bad about his Avengers. He is the one who failed the team, not Stark. "My brother is here, but it is much better for everyone if Loki and I do not share a room this time."

Thor had spent time with Lady Jane, but he had not lived with her for a time outright. She had given him her hospitality and he had been grateful for it, for her even if she was gone now.

"A trying time, to be sure, regardless of magical gifts. Sometimes communing like that can make you fall out of love," he teased.

"Our people simply have...differences." That was the politest way she could think of to put that. She took another drink and then chuckled. "I had heard Loki was here. Quite the mixing of people." It seemed like a miracle they hadn't destroyed this place by now.

"I honestly can't count the number of relationships it's ruined for me. You find out your lovers deepest desires and," she shakes her head and smirks. "It's never quite what you expect."

"True, Loki has his moments, but he is doing well here. Shining. I think he will have real potential among the others. He even did a good deed," Thor says with pride. He still wonders what she means about 'our people' and Stark, but he doesn't push the issue too hard.

Thor sighed. "Love can be hard, when you let that person in. Opening yourself up and sharing anything is a challenge harder than any battle I have fought. I had a lady but we have chosen to go our separate ways. And I have not attempted to find another in her absence." After all, she had broken up with him and he was still hurting over that. "Still, I do not regret her in my life."

"I suppose even Loki can see there's no value in having enemies in a place like this," she laughed and shook her head.

"The last lover I had died recently." She looked down into her glass and sighed. That wasn't entirely true, he hadn't simply died. Nothing in their lives was ever quite that simple. "At least it sounds as though you two separated on fairly good terms. Was it very recent?"
